Advancements in Disease Research by Measurement of Biomarkers using Simoa Technology

09Dec2021

As research into various diseases has progressed in recent years, the ability to measure low abundant, yet important, proteins biomarkers has been limited by technology advancements.

Traditional methods such as ELISA and other immunoassay techniques have been hampered with the ability to only detect certain biomarkers in diseased subjects without the ability to measure the same biomarker in designated healthy subjects.

Recent publications have showcased how Simoa technology has often achieved a 100-fold or more improvement in sensitivity compared to traditional methods and enabled researchers to measure important protein biomarkers in blood, cells, tissues, and other biological samples. This increased sensitivity now allows for the measurement of important biomarkers in not only diseased patient samples, but also in healthy patient samples.

In this online seminar, we will showcase recent examples where Simoa technology has been used to advance neurology and research on cancer, inflammation and a variety of infectious diseases.
