Four Physiological Benefits of Hypoxic Conditioning

27Oct2021

Recent evidence suggests that exercising in hypoxia, decreased arterial oxygen availability, might be a viable “therapeutic strategy” for better health outcomes. Sessions of intermittent exposure to moderate hypoxia repeated over several weeks may induce cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological effects.

Hypoxic conditioning is also a novel therapeutic solution for load-compromised individuals to achieve similar exercise benefits by doing less mechanical work.

This presentation will highlight some of the benefits and risks of using hypoxic conditioning as a potential therapeutic modality. It will discuss how a combination of exercise and hypoxia can be optimized to tailor exercise regimens and explore the remaining issues in this promising field.

This event will be held in English.
