Biography

Sehrish Javid is an S.J.D. candidate and Doctoral Fellow in the IPDD Project at the College of Law. Her research focuses on the role of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in facilitating digital development, with particular emphasis on their legal frameworks and how they contribute to technological advancement. Her dissertation examines how these zones create opportunities for digital transformation, facilitate cross-border partnerships, and integrate emerging technologies into global economic structures.

Sehrish holds an LLB, an MA in Near and Middle Eastern History from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and an MSc in South Asian Studies with Persian from the University of Oxford. Her academic background equips her with a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the intersection of law, economic policy, and digital development.

Her research interests span international economic law, digital governance, and the regulatory challenges posed by evolving technological landscapes. Through her work, she aims to contribute to legal scholarship on SEZs and offer insights into how regulatory frameworks can be adapted to support digital economies.
