Compliance Lead (Qatari National Only)

The Audit, Risk, and Compliance portfolio provides leadership, consultation, and support within HBKU for internal audit, risk, compliance, business continuity, and crisis management.

  • Provide comprehensive, high-quality, and proactive advice and support on compliance frameworks and matters for the whole University.
  • Monitoring changes to the University’s regulatory compliance obligations and communicating these changes, and advising on impacts to the affected stakeholders and business areas.
  • Establish and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to promote awareness of the University’s Compliance Management Framework to help embed a University-wide compliance culture. Collaborate with stakeholders to inform and monitor compliance and non-compliance.
  • Identify and assess compliance obligations and related requirements, and assess risk in line with the University’s Risk Management Framework.

HBKU seeks applications for the position of Compliance Lead. The applicant will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk and compliance function, employing both operational and technical knowledge of risk and compliance management systems, in alignment with HBKU's overall strategic direction and vision.

  • A bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Compliance, Business Management, or relevant related field.
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of risk management, compliance, and/or crisis Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory standards of the State of Qatar.
  • Hands-on experience and thorough understanding of policies and best practices of compliance, budget preparation, presentation, control, and monitoring.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk and compliance software systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills, training experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent Arabic and English writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports.
  • Articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
