A commitment to international law is one of the core principles of foreign policy. Diplomats, international law practitioners and foreign ministries negotiate on international matters and represent sovereign states in facilitating trade, knowledge exchange and cultural promotion.

This colloquium explores the nature of foreign policy decision-making in an increasingly turbulent world. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the intricacies of diplomatic work, including the qualities and skillset required for an international affairs career in the 21st century.
