QBRI’s webinar series is dedicated to highlighting various topics of current global significance. This webinar will provide an overview of the current state of diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2. Participants will examine the ongoing challenges for COVID-19 laboratory testing and try to understand how testing can be used to control the outbreak.

Dr. Patrick Tang, Division Chief, Pathology Sciences, Sidra Medicine, and an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Weill-Cornell Medicine.
In addition to his clinical role as a consultant medical microbiologist, Dr. Tang is responsible for the development and implementation of new molecular and genomics-based tests for infectious diseases at Sidra Medicine. Prior to joining Sidra, Dr. Tang was a Clinician-Scientist leader at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
