Incorporeal Conditions of Renaissance

28Aug2019

Discussions about the moral and spiritual conditions of the Arab Renaissance (Al-Nahda) are often limited to emotional drive and energy. However, this matter is much broader as the Renaissance is related to generating an idea that is capable of regeneration and revival by passing through all the necessary stages for creating its historical world.

Similarly, the word ‘Spirit’ carries many significations in the Holy Quran, and also appears in the title of prominent modern intellectual works, signifying a wider meaning of the moral and spiritual conditions for building civilizations.

This lecture aims to contribute to widening the horizon of thinking about the moral and spiritual conditions of the Renaissance.

Speaker:
Mr. Hassan Bin Hassan,
Senior Researcher, Ibn Khaldon Center for Humanities and Social Sciences; and Former Advisor, Academic Research Office, Qatar University

The event will be held in Arabic, with simultaneous English interpreting.
