This webinar is organized to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day. This year’s theme is “Engineering Heroes”. 

The webinar will focus on the bright and brave women engineers that played a major role in maintaining critical industrial operations and infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic either in industrial operations or in research and innovation.

Women will share their experiences and describe some of the work they do every day that contributes to  society and the economy.

Event Objectives: 

The webinar will focus on the following:

  • Provide examples of distinguished women engineers: Senior engineers, who progressed in their career, will share their experience and the challenges they faced to progress in the profession. 
  • Focus on the acceptance of women engineers in Qatari society and workplaces: Qatari engineers will share their experience in the field and the challenges they faced to make society accept their role in a perceived male-dominanted profession.
  • Celebrate the incredible work done by women engineers in keeping us safe and secure: Discuss the role engineers played in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Including maintaining critical industry services and infrastructure, keeping  a civil society functioning at every level as well as leading research and innovation to tackle the long-term challenges.
