It has been a dynamic period for arbitration in Qatar. In recent years, Qatar has comprehensively modernized its legal arbitral regime, with the introduction of the Qatari Arbitration Law No. (2) of 2017, and the Chartered Institute for Arbitration has opened a dedicated chapter in Qatar. On the other hand, the COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges to conducting arbitral proceedings across the globe. 

This panel brings together key arbitration practitioners and academics in Qatar, to reflect on the themes and challenges that have emerged in arbitral practice in Qatar in recent years.
