HBKU's Core Labs Summer Program offers undergraduate students in Qatar the chance to gain practical training and research experience. The program offers access to three state-of-the-art facilities; Proteomics, Genomics, and Materials Characterization Labs, where learners can explore and improve their skills in these critical scientific areas. The training includes lectures, hands-on training, and varied experiences tailored to each lab's specialization. This opportunity provides students with the tools to expand their knowledge and build their skills in these essential scientific domains and embark on an exciting journey of advanced scientific exploration throughout the summer.

To provide more opportunities for all interested students, each student is limited to submitting their application for only one Core Lab program.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Those interested in the summer training program at the Proteomics or Genomics Core Labs must be enrolled in an undergraduate program related to the fields of Biological or Medical Sciences in Qatar.

Those interested in the summer training program at the Material Characterization Lab must be enrolled in an undergraduate program related to the fields of Materials Science and Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering in Qatar.

Additionally, applicants must:

  • Hold a Qatari residence permit
  • Be in their third or fourth year of studies
  • Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0

Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

 

Submission Process

Applicants must fill in the online form and submit the following documents:

  • An updated resume
  • University enrollment letter
  • Official copy of university academic transcript
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty/instructors (They must be familiar with the student, and are in a position to assess the student’s capabilities)

Important Note: Due to the program's focused nature, only a limited number of students will be accepted. Upon the submission of applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
