The Vice-President for Research at Qatar University extends a cordial invitation to attend the Qatar University - Qatar Biomedical Research Institute Research Symposium at the Auditorium of the New Research Complex, Qatar University, from 10 am on the 9th September, 2014.
Intel, in collaboration with Qatar Foundation and the Supreme Eductaion Council, will be hosting the awards ceremony for the 2014 Intel Science Competition - Arab World (ISC AW) on the 11th November 2014 at the Qatar National Convention Center.
The ISC AW is an annual Pan Arab Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) competition for students in grades 9 to 12.

In Islamic societies, Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) name is among the most celebrated in architectural inscriptions. They include some of the finest masterpieces of Arabic calligraphy and design – in a wide range of scripts, settings, and materials.
Using examples of inscriptions that were available between the 11th and 16th centuries, this lecture will raise the question of why some of these forms were popular during this period, particularly the star-shaped symmetrical inscriptions.
