The Ḥaram Al-Ibrāhīmī or the Cave of the Patriarchs in southern West Bank, Palestine, is known as the burial place of the Prophet Ibrahim, his son and grandson, and their wives.
Throughout the Middle Ages, until the British Mandate, it was also a center of hospitality exemplifying the best practices of Arab-Islamic hospitality. This lecture will explore the history of the hospitality practices associated with this holy place.

Muslim theological sources have become the departure point for the majority of modern Muslim writings on Hinduism, Buddhism, and Indian religious thought in general. This lecture attempts to demonstrate the inaccuracy of the information in those sources, and of ensuing studies that are based on such material.

The lecture seeks to address the nature of knowledge and science among Muslims, and will investigate areas of interaction between Islamic civilization and Europe. It will also analyze the lessons learned from historical experiences, such as, how Islamic knowledge and its curricula were transferred to Europe. Additionally, the lecture will examine whether it is possible to apply these lessons to the efforts of Islamic reform and achieve a contemproray Islamic renaissance.

Domestic workers constitute a public phenomenon, and their role in childcare gives rise to a number of issues relative to the conditions of each community, as well as its principles, beliefs, ethics, and legal system.
This lecture explores the psychological attitudes of domestic workers and their treatment of children – and how this impacts children’s psychological health – from a comparative Islamic thought perspective.
Building on the success of its inaugural conference held in 2018 at the College of Law and Public Policy, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar, the Association of Environmental Law Lecturers in Middle East and North African Universities (ASELLMU) will be hosting its second conference from November 4-5, 2019 at the Hassan First University of Settat, in Casablanca, Morocco.
