The Role of ADR, IP Protection, and Innovation in Advancing FDI for Sustainable Development conference will focus on recent developments in the protection of intellectual property (IP) rights. It will emphasize the use of ADR mechanisms for resolving IP disputes and explore how sustainability policies can enhance foreign direct investment and entrepreneurship in key economic sectors.

It will feature six panels, each comprising distinguished experts who will engage in insightful discussions on pivotal themes, including:

  • Aligning Intellectual Property (IP) Rights with Economic Governance and Sustainability Goals: International and Comparative Perspectives 
    What are the emerging best practices for leveraging IP rights to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in key economic sectors?
  • Enhancing the Efficiency of Mediation and Arbitration in Resolving IP and Technology Disputes 
    How can we maximize the value of mediation, arbitration, and other ADR mechanisms to effectively resolve IP disputes in a fair and timely manner?
  • Litigation of IP Disputes and Court-Referred Mediation 
    How can courts and the judiciary further enhance the timely and effective resolution of IP disputes, especially those relating to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets?
  • Entrepreneurship, Intellectual Property, and Sustainable Development in Qatar and the Region 
    How can entrepreneurs, innovators, SMEs, and other key stakeholders maximize the full value of IP rights and protection to commercialize and scale their sustainable innovation?
  • Innovating for the Future: Strengthening Research and IP Frameworks to Achieve Qatar’s National Development Strategy (NDS3) Goals 
    How can we strengthen research and development on IP and sustainability in Qatar and across the region?
  • Intellectual Property, Sports Law (including esports), and ADR
