السيرة الذاتية
Prof. Abdelkrim Khelif is a Professor at the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). Before joining HBKU, he was a Research Director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the FEMTO-ST Institute in Besançon, France. He received his PhD in Applied physics from the University of Lille, France. His research connects fundamental wave physics with device engineering. It spans phononic crystals, acoustic and elastic metamaterials, metasurfaces, and MEMS/NEMS resonators. His current work uses bound states in the continuum (BIC) to develop high-quality-factor acoustic and optomechanical devices for sensing, telecommunications, ultrasound systems, and energy harvesting.
Prof. Khelif has received research funding from agencies in the United States, France, and across Europe, as well as industry partners including ALSTOM and Thales. He is a founding member of the International Phononic Society, co-editor of Phononic Crystals: Fundamentals and Applications, and recipient of the 2007 CNRS Bronze Medal.
