Biography
Amna Zaman is an S.J.D. candidate and doctoral research fellow at the College of Law. Her dissertation focuses on the regulation of cross-border data flows (CBDFs) as an industrial strategy and its impact on international economic governance. Through her research, she examines how countries regulate CBDFs to advance industrial policies, cybersecurity, and economic interests, assessing their implications for international trade and legal frameworks.
She holds an LL.M. in International Law and Foreign Affairs from HBKU and has practiced law with a focus on corporate and family law. In addition to her legal practice, she has taught at the University of London, sharing her expertise with aspiring legal professionals.
She currently serves as an expert consultant with the International Labour Organization (ILO) project office in Qatar, contributing to the organization’s initiatives aimed at improving labor standards in Qatar and promoting social justice.
