The Student Success Services at Hamad Bin Khalifa University is committed to providing high-quality academic support to undergraduate students. The Peer Tutor Program is aligned with the College Reading and Learning Association CRLA, an international organization dedicated to promoting excellence in tutoring and student support.
HBKU’s Peer Tutor Program offers professional development opportunities for tutors while enhancing student learning outcomes.

Level 1: Certification Requirements
- Active Employment as a Peer Tutor within HBKU Student Success Services.
- Complete 10 Hours of Training in foundational online modules, workshops, and mentoring sessions.
- 25 Hours of Tutoring Experience within the same academic year.
- Supervision and Evaluation with supervisors to reflect on tutoring practices and receive feedback.
Level 2: Certification Requirements
- Completion of Level 1 Certification is a prerequisite.
- An additional 10 Hours of Advanced Training in strategies, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- 50 hours of Tutoring Experience, including Level 1 hours, demonstrating consistent application of advanced skills.
- Ongoing Supervision and Peer Mentoring: reflective discussions, peer observations, and case reviews to refine tutoring expertise.
