This workshop will help participants develop the skills required to become effective translators in a wide range of disciplines including general, legal, and business translation.
Revision is an essential part of quality assurance during the translation production process.
Likewise, adhering to the standards of an established quality assurance system increases client confidence and the credibility of service providers in the translation market.
This workshop will examine the EN-15038, a European quality standard for translation service providers, and ASTM F2575, a standard guide for quality assurance in translation.
The Translating Sports workshop will help participants develop the skills required to become effective translators and editors in the sports sector.
Additionally, attendees will learn how to draft sports translation revision reports, to help ensure quality control in this area.
The workshop will be held at Penrose House (LAS Building) on November 10-13, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Translation professionals and students are invited to a panel discussion about “Challenges of Translators in the Digital and Global Age”. Dr. Daniel Newman will open the discussion with a short talk on Arabic civilization and translation.

This workshop caters to various skill levels. Through in-house activities, participants will gain first-hand experience in translation using various translation techniques, search tools, self-revision, and proofreading.
The workshop will be delivered by Sayed Mohamed, Senior Translation Specialist at TII’s Translation and Training Center.
The Translation and Training Center (TTC) aims at promoting community development and building capacity in Qatar and the region through continuing education (professional development) opportunities in translation and interpreting.
