Biography
Dr. Sadam Hussain is a Research Assistant at the Neurological Disorders Research Center (NDRC), Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI). His work is motivated by a long-standing interest in how genes shape the developing brain and how subtle molecular changes underpin the sex-specific and behavioral differences observed in neurodevelopmental disorders. He completed his PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), where he studied the sex-specific role of chromatin remodeler CHD2 in neurodevelopment and behavior. He holds an MPhil and a BSc in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from Kohat University of Science and Technology, Pakistan, where his research focused on the clinical and molecular analysis of inherited disorders, including primary microcephaly and genodermatoses.
His work integrates Drosophila genetics, human iPSC-derived neural models, and omics-based analysis to study neurodevelopmental disease mechanisms. His long-term goal is to develop innovative, multi-model experimental approaches that advance mechanistic understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders and support translational neuroscience research.
