Biography

Dr. Ahmed AlNouss is a recognized leader in process engineering, sustainable energy systems, and industrial plant optimization. He is a Process Engineering Specialist at QatarEnergy-LNG and holds an Adjunct Professor appointment at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). He manages multidisciplinary design packages, techno-economic evaluations, and engineering management of change across major LNG and downstream operations. His industrial leadership spans end-to-end process design, emissions reduction initiatives, flare management, and plant optimization.

Across his combined academic and industrial career spanning over 15 years, Dr. AlNouss has led and executed over 40 major industrial projects alongside numerous national research grant initiatives (including QNRF NPRP and UREP programs). His technical expertise encompasses sustainable energy systems, biomass gasification and polygeneration, carbon capture and utilization (CCUS), energy-water-food nexus optimization, process simulation, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning models for process deviation prediction, supply chain digital twins, and computational intelligence frameworks. He has authored over 90 peer-reviewed journal publications and conference proceedings, and co-supervises Ph.D. and Master’s candidates while delivering specialized process simulation and design training.

Dr. AlNouss contributes extensively to regional industrial efficiency and sustainability standards. He is a Certified Expert Aspen Simulation User.
