Biography

Ahmad Yatim is a Research Assistant at the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI). He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University at Qatar and is completing an MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.

His research experience focuses on additive manufacturing, sustainable materials, engineering design, and environmental assessment. He has worked on 3D concrete printing, including geopolymer mix development, fiber reinforcement, and the evaluation of mechanical properties and long term material performance. His design experience includes CAD modelling, prototyping, and the development of experimental systems and mechanical components.

His MSc research examines composite waste management through life cycle assessment of carbon and glass fiber reinforced polymer recycling pathways using openLCA. At QEERI, he is expanding his research experience in plasma assisted processes, materials development, additive manufacturing, and steel corrosion.
