Overview
The Research Computing Core Group (RCCG) provides advanced computational support to scientists and engineers engaged in data-intensive and compute-intensive research. If your research involves simulations, data analysis, or modeling tasks that require substantial computing time on standard workstations, RCCG is here to help streamline and accelerate your workflow.

User Support and Training
Training users on the effective use of High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources is part of our mandate. We offer training on topics such as
- deploying and managing user workloads on HPC systems
- the Linux operating system and the bash shell
- programming with Python
- using Linux containers, and more
Occasionally, we also arrange professional on-site training courses specific to certain applications (e.g., Matlab, Ansys, etc.) by inviting outside experts. If a need for any such training can be identified by the community and if there is sufficient interest, we can facilitate and arrange a relevant training event.

Scientific Programming and Application Support
Apart from providing general guidance on the use of science and engineering applications on these specialized systems, we provide technical assistance in debugging and compiling applications, analyzing and optimizing performance, and porting and parallelizing codes.
Systems Management
We operate and manage HPC systems and their associated software stacks in production status 24x7 throughout the year. Currently, we are managing an HPE Cray XC40 (Raad2) as well as an XC50 system (Hazeem). Our team has over 16 years of practical experience running production HPC systems for QF institutions.
