Female staff gained practical skills and insights into sustainable planting practices
Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG) organized a hands-on agricultural workshop for female members of the General Authority for Minors’ Affairs at its Conservation Center. The workshop aimed to develop participants’ practical knowledge while raising awareness of sustainable agricultural practices in the State of Qatar.
Participants were introduced to key elements of sustainable agricultural practices through an engaging and practical learning experience. The session covered the different stages of planting, including basic soil preparation and conditioning, planting and post-planting care.

The initiative forms part of QBG’s ongoing efforts to promote agricultural and environmental knowledge across the country. As the only botanic garden in Qatar accredited by the International Association of Botanic Gardens, QBG continues to advance environmental awareness, particularly around plant heritage and the preservation of natural resources.
QBG serves as a unique knowledge platform for plants mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Through this cultural dimension, the Garden encourages greater interest in environmental sciences, while promoting sustainability and biodiversity conservation. QBG also offers diverse programs that provide visitors, students, and researchers with opportunities to explore scientific agricultural practices through interactive learning experiences.
