The lecture examines the growing body of emerging norms in international climate law, with a particular focus on the role of courts in their recognition and development. It will address key concepts such as the jus cogens prohibition against irreversible climate harm, the rights of future generations, the rights of Nature, and the right to a healthy environment. The lecture will further explore how judicial engagement with these norms contributes to their clarification, contestation, and gradual development within international legal practice.

The event will be held in English.
