Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s College of Law (CL) and College of Science and Engineering (CSE) recently hosted Dr. Meghali Chopra, the CEO of Sandbox Semiconductor, Inc., a corporation based in Austin, Texas, which is developing a new way of fabricating semiconductors.  Speaking to a full audience at HBKU, the entrepreneur detailed the science behind her business concept and the journey of transforming ideas from an academic to a business setting.

Agreement to bolster medical research and advance knowledge

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Imagine Institute of Genetic Diseases (IIGD), a Paris-based research institute focused on genetic diseases, today signed an education and research collaboration agreement that is set to advance the future of medicine. 

وقَّعَت جامعة حمد بن خليفة، مؤخرًا، اتفاقية تعاون في مجالات التعليم والبحوث، مع معهد إيماجين للأمراض الوراثية، وهو معهد بحثي في باريس يركز على بحوث الأمراض الوراثية؛ بهدف النهوض بمستقبل الطب.

وقَّعَ على الاتفاقية الدكتور أحمد مجاهد عمر حسنه، رئيس جامعة حمد بن خليفة؛ والدكتور ستانيسلاس ليونيه، مدير معهد إيماجين للأمراض الوراثية، وذلك في الديوان الأميري، بحضور معالي الشيخ عبد الله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية؛ ومعالي إدوارد فيليب، رئيس الوزراء الفرنسي.  

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Imagine Institute of Genetic Diseases (IIGD), a Paris-based research institute focused on genetic diseases, today signed an education and research collaboration agreement that is set to advance the future of medicine. 

Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, President of HBKU, and Dr. Stanislas Lyonnet, Director of IIGD, signed the agreement at the Amiri Diwan in the presence of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Interior, and HE Mr. Edouard Philippe, Prime Minister of France.

وقَّعت كلية العلوم الصحية والحيوية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة، مؤخرًا، مذكرة تفاهم مع المركز الطبي البيطري للخيل، يتعاون بموجبها الطرفان في مجالات البحوث والدراسات العليا.

وقَّع المذكرة الدكتور إدوارد ستونكيل، العميد المؤسِّس لكلية العلوم الصحية والحيوية، والدكتورة جيسيكا جونسون، مدير المركز الطبي البيطري للخيل بالإنابة. وتهدف الاتفاقية إلى توسيع نطاق التعاون المثمر، وبحوث العلوم الصحية والحياتية، وتعزيز الخبرات البحثية في مجال الطب الحيوي، وتطوير الكفاءات البيطرية.

The College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Equine Veterinary Medical Center (EVMC), which will see the two entities collaborate in areas of research and graduate education.

Dr. Edward Stuenkel, founding dean of CHLS, and Dr. Jessica Johnson, acting director of EVMC, signed the MoU. The agreement aims to extend the productive interactions and research of health and life sciences, enhance biomedical research expertise and expand veterinary competencies.

يستضيف مركز قطر للذكاء الاصطناعي، التابع لمعهد قطر لبحوث الحوسبة في جامعة حمد بن خليفة، بالشراكة مع برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، ورشة عمل حول الذكاء الاصطناعي لتحقيق الخير الاجتماعي، وذلك يوم 17 فبراير المقبل.

وتستقطب ورشة العمل ممثلين عن أهم المؤسسات غير الحكومية ووكالات الأمم المتحدة والأكاديميين وقادة الصناعة، من أجل استيعاب مفهوم الذكاء الاصطناعي، وتحديد التطبيقات الملائمة لإيجاد الحلول الناجعة للتحديات العالمية في مجالات التنمية والإغاثة.
