Biography
Jassim AlKuwari is a Senior Engineer at Ooredoo Qatar whose work sits at the intersection of classic optical and quantum communications. Since joining Ooredoo in 2019, he has designed and planned national transmission networks, delivering enterprise point‑to‑point services and contributing to a state‑of‑the‑art DWDM backbone that supports international hyperscalers. His technical foundations span core technologies such as MPLS and DWDM.
Jassim holds a Master’s degree in Data Science and Engineering from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, where his thesis prototyped an Ethereum‑based architecture for retail central bank digital currency and examined the associated scalability and privacy trade‑offs. Graduate study in quantum computing and quantum machine learning catalyzed his current research focus.
At HBKU’s Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2), his research targets fiber‑based QKD that coexists with classical traffic over a single optical fiber, advancing quantum security from lab concepts to live networks. With day‑to‑day access to nationwide optical infrastructure and close industry collaboration, Jassim aims to deliver secure, future‑ready networks aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
