Biography

Asad Ali holds a BS and MPhil in Physics and is currently a PhD student in Computer Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, where his research focuses on quantum information science and quantum optics. Prior to this, he spent two years as a non-degree research scholar at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, working in experimental quantum optics. His research background includes studies of quantum correlations in multi-qubit systems, and he is currently engaged in multiple projects, including quantum key distribution, quantum batteries, and quantum correlations in condensed matter systems such as the Bose–Hubbard model and Heisenberg spin chains. His current primary research focus is on quantum sensing, particularly the development of quantum gravimeters, where he is building large-momentum-transfer (LMT)-based models enhanced by shortcut-to-adiabaticity protocols to improve sensitivity and robustness.
