All final exams are administered in accordance with the official final exam schedule issued by the Registrar’s Office and governed by the HBKU Student Examination policy available under Academic policies.
General Information
- Final examinations are designed to be completed within a maximum duration of two hours.
- Courses that carry one credit hour will have a one-hour examination, conducted during the last scheduled class session, before final exam week.
- Students cannot be required to take more than two final exams in a single day.
- If a student has been assigned to more than 2 exams in one day, it is the responsibility of the student to notify instructors in a timely manner to provide accommodation to change one of the exams.
- It is the responsibility of the faculty to schedule additional proctors if needed to supervise exams.
How exams are scheduled
Faculty members will receive a final exam survey from the Registrar’s Office at the beginning of each semester. The survey aims to collect information used to assess logistical requirements, such as the need for a final exam, required venues/locations such as computer labs, lecture halls, and classrooms, as well as the coordination of common exams and requests for early-day examinations.
If no response is received from the faculty, the Registrar’s Office will proceed with scheduling final exams for the respective courses based on standard procedures.
For more details, please refer to the Student Examination policy available under the Academic policies.
