Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) launches the first edition of its HorizonHub Workshop series. Designed as a collaborative platform, the series brings together researchers, academics, and thought leaders to explore critical topics and shape the future of quantum technologies. This workshop focuses on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in quantum computing research, with discussions led by Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Associate Professor at HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering (CSE).

Renowned experts, including Dr. Artur Ekert (University of Oxford), Dr. Barry Sanders (University of Calgary), André M. König, and Dr. David Shaw (Global Quantum Intelligence), share their insights into the transformative potential of quantum computing across industries such as energy, finance, logistics, and healthcare. Representatives from major national stakeholders and international organizations also join the event to discuss the field’s future impact.
