The international three-day event, Advancing Materials Science: Bridging Chemistry and Engineering for a Sustainable Future, is a pioneering conference jointly hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) in collaboration with Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU).
This conference will catalyze scientific discoveries, industry collaborations, and advancements in sustainability-driven materials research by bringing together global experts and young researchers in materials science, chemistry, and sustainability-driven technologies.

This conference marks a significant milestone as the first RSC and E-MRS conference in the Middle East, bringing together leading researchers, industry professionals, and students to explore cutting-edge advancements in materials science, chemistry, and sustainable technologies.
Through keynote lectures, panel discussions, and oral and poster presentations, this event provides a platform for thought-provoking discussions and meaningful networking opportunities. Submission Guidelines
We invite participants to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations that align with the themes of the conference: materials science, chemistry, sustainable technologies, and innovation in engineering. Below are the guidelines for submitting your abstract:
- Submission Categories
- Oral Presentations: Selected speakers will be invited to present their research in a formal session.
- Poster Presentations: Posters will be displayed throughout the conference. Authors of selected posters will have the opportunity to present during dedicated poster sessions.
- Abstract Submission
- Deadline: Sunday, September 21, 2025
- Abstract Length: Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
- Format: Abstracts must be submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
- Content: The abstract should include:
- Title: Descriptive and concise
- Authors: List of authors with affiliations
- Abstract Body: Clear description of the research, objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: Include up to 5 keywords that represent the main focus of your research.
- Review and Selection
- Peer Review: Submitted abstracts will undergo a peer review process.
- Notification: Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by September 25, 2025.

Metro
The metro system has three lines (Gold, Green, and Red) covering 37 stations. Trains run every 3 minutes and staff are available at every station to assist you during your journey.
You can buy a travel card at stations and then save time by topping up online or on the Qatar Rail app (iOS and Android)
All stations have elevators and all train carriages provide space for wheelchair users and pushchairs, as well as guide dog allowances. You can check the Qatar Rail website before you travel.
Free Metrolink buses run useful routes within 2 - 5 km of stations.
If you are traveling to central Doha, you can take the metro to one of these stations, which are conveniently located to access the Corniche area. You can change lines at Al Bidda (Red and Green) stations and Msheireb (Red, Green and Gold)
