A-Sense is proud to share that Dr. Dena Al-Thani, associate professor at HBKU and co-founder of the A-Sense Center, was invited to speak at the UNESCO IITE webinar, “Use of AI and ICT to Support Inclusion of Learners with Autism, ADHD, and Learning Difficulties: From Innovation to Inclusion.”
This webinar is the first in the UNESCO–Central China Normal University EmpowerEd series, an initiative dedicated to advancing inclusive teaching and learning through AI- and ICT-driven solutions. The series underscores UNESCO’s commitment to equity, accessibility, and ensuring that learners with disabilities are fully supported in educational systems worldwide.
During the session, Dr. Al-Thani presented insights from A-Sense’s work on developing augmented reality learning platforms for children on the autism spectrum. She also contributed to a rich discussion alongside leading experts from across the globe. The research highlighted throughout the webinar showcased impactful practices from six continents, demonstrating how AI, ICT, and assistive technologies can help reshape learning environments into truly inclusive spaces.
