Dr. Dena Al-Thani and Dr. Marwa Qaraqe joined the Qatar Foundation delegation to the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York. Their participation reinforced Qatar Foundation’s leadership in advancing equity, inclusion, and accessibility on a truly global stage.
On the sidelines of the UNGA, Dr. Al-Thani and Dr. Qaraqe took part in the launch of the Global Autism Advocacy Coalition (GAAC) – a groundbreaking initiative convened by Qatar Foundation and supported by Autism Speaks, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization. This coalition represents an essential milestone in placing autism at the heart of the global health and development agenda, while strengthening Qatar Foundation’s pivotal role in shaping international policy, advocacy, and research.
In parallel, Qatar Foundation, in collaboration with Autism Speaks, hosted an exclusive networking reception, “Call for Action: Partnerships for Autism.” The event brought together global decision-makers and thought leaders to explore partnerships and investments in scalable, inclusive solutions and to open new pathways for collaboration across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
