Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), through its A-Sense Center of Excellence, has announced a strategic research and innovation partnership with Xaidi, a Swiss AI health tech company, at Web Summit Qatar 2026 in Doha.
Signed by Dr. Mounir Hamdi, Dean of HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering, and Dr. Peter Owotoki, Co-Founder of Xaidi, the agreement reflects a shared commitment to developing ethical, research-driven digital health solutions that support autistic individuals and their families.
The partnership aligns with Qatar’s national priorities in health, education, and innovation, while reinforcing HBKU’s leadership in autism research through its specialized A-Sense Center of Excellence. It also supports the broader goals of the National Autism Plan.
Through this collaboration, HBKU and Xaidi will work on research-informed design, validation, and responsible AI systems for neurodevelopmental health. Beyond technology development, the partnership is expected to strengthen applied research, knowledge exchange, and Qatar’s position as a leader in human-centered health tech innovation.
