The Sponsored Research Office (SRO) was launched in December 2016 under the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Vice President for Research Office. The SRO contributes to HBKU’s academic and research mission through the provision of pre-award and post-award management for all sponsored research projects.
The SRO is responsible for all external research projects across all HBKU colleges and research institutes. SRO manages all aspects of the projects from proposal preparation and pre-award to project completion and closure. The SRO’s primary responsibility includes supporting researchers in proposal preparation for completeness and compliance, and to ensure that HBKU is in compliance with the terms and conditions of funding agreements and other applicable research policies. SRO also supports Award negotiations and Sub Award Agreements.
The Sponsored Research Office, part of the Office of the Vice-President for Research at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), aims to advance the university’s academic and research mission aligned with the country’s national priorities and challenges. It provides a highly supportive environment to optimize the development and management of research for all members of HBKU.
HBKU is dedicated to creating and fostering knowledge through research initiatives. Our contribution as the Sponsored Research Office is to provide comprehensive support to HBKU faculty, researchers and staff for external funding opportunities.
