The HBKU University Senate is the academic advisory body representing the faculty and researchers of the University. It is composed of elected members from all colleges and research institutes, serving to reflect the diverse academic voices of the institution.
The University Senate provides a collaborative forum to discuss and offer recommendations on matters that affect the academic and research mission of the university. It plays a key advisory role in shaping policies and initiatives related to academic programs, research priorities, faculty affairs, and student life. Through its standing committees and active engagement with university leadership, the Senate promotes transparency, shared governance, and institutional excellence—ensuring that the voices of faculty and researchers are heard in shaping HBKU’s future.
