ماجستير العلوم في علوم البيانات وهندستها

يتألف البرنامج من (33) ساعة معتمدة، لمدة عامين، ويُدرَّس باللغة الإنجليزية، ويتضمَّن:

• أربع دورات دراسية أساسية لتوفير بيئة تعليمية متناسقة للطلاب ذوي الخلفيات المتنوعة؛ للتعامل مع القضايا المتعلقة بعلوم البيانات وهندستها، والدورات التدريبية الرئيسة هي:

  اسم المقرر
  طرق البحث وأخلاقياته في تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات
  الإحصاء لفائدة العلوم والهندسة
  نظم إدارة البيانات المتقدمة
  تحليلات البيانات التطبيقية

• أربع دورات اختيارية

  اسم المقرر
  أربع دورات اختيارية تتناول بعض أساسيات الهندسة والعلوم، فضلًا عن مجموعة متنوعة من المواد الاختيارية في مجال علوم البيانات وهندستها؛ لتزويد الطلاب بقاعدة علمية معرفية صلبة وعميقة، تمكِّنهم من استيعاب الجوانب المختلفة لعلوم البيانات وهندستها والروابط المتبادلة بينهما.

• فصل دراسي من الندوات البحثية لطلاب البرنامج
  • ويضم البرنامج أيضًا فصل دراسي على هيئة ندوات بحثية للطلاب؛ لتوسيع آفاقهم من خلال تقديم مجموعة واسعة من الموضوعات، وإجراء المناقشات مع الخبراء المدعوين، والعروض التقديمية للمتخصصين بالصناعة والمعاهد البحثية والساحة الأكاديمية والمؤسسات والجهات الحكومية.
• ويوصى الطلاب أيضًا بحضور دورة اختيارية في التعلّم الآلي.
• أطروحة بحثية تعادل (9) ساعات معتمدة أو مشروع صناعي يعادل (6) ساعات معتمدة.

يتمتع البرنامج بالمرونة من خلال تمكين الطلاب من التركيز على مجالات الاهتمام المختلفة، من خلال اختيار المواد الاختيارية والمشاريع المتعلقة بعلوم وهندسة البيانات، مثل جمع البيانات وتخزينها وإدارتها وتحليلها واستخلاص المعرفة واكتشافها.

يجب على مقدمي الطلبات إرفاق بيان اجتياز اختبار (IELTS) والحصول على معدل 6.5 أو اختبار (TOEFL) بمعدل 79؛ لإثبات كفاءتهم في اللغة الإنجليزية. ويمكن أن يُعفى المتقدم من هذا الشرط في حال تقديم خطاب رسمي يفيد بأن الطالب قد حصل على درجته الجامعية من جامعة تدرس مناهجها باللغة الإنجليزية.

وعلى الرغم من أن اختبار (GRE) ليس ضروريًا للقبول في برامج الماجستير بكلية العلوم والهندسة، إلا أن الحصول على معدل كبير فيه سوف يساعد في تعزيز مؤهلات القبول للطلاب المتقدّمين للالتحاق.

ويفضل المتقدمون من ذوي الخبرات البحثية السابقة، خاصة فيما يتعلق ببرامج الدكتوراه.

Academic Requirements

To graduate with the MSc in Data Science and Engineering, students must successfully complete a total of 33 credit hours (CH), including core courses, electives, and a capstone experience.

Students are required to complete 12 CH of core courses, providing a strong foundation in statistics, data analytics, and data management, along with 12 CH of elective courses that allow specialization in various advanced topics.

In addition, students must pass the Graduate Research Seminar (0 CH). The program culminates in either a research thesis (9 CH) or an industrial project (6 CH) combined with an elective, followed by a thesis or project defense.

Students are also expected to produce a high-quality research output, such as a conference or journal publication, as part of their graduation requirements.

English Language Requirements

All applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting a valid standardized test score. The minimum required score is typically 6.5 on the IELTS (Academic) or 79 or above on the TOEFL (iBT).

Test scores must be valid at the time of application submission (usually within two years of the test date).

Applicants may be exempt from this requirement if they provide official documentation confirming that their undergraduate degree was completed at an institution where the language of instruction is English.

Additional English language qualifications or equivalent certifications may be considered in line with university admission policies.

Standardized Tests (if applicable)

GRE / GMAT (Optional / Program-Dependent):
Submission of GRE or GMAT scores may be encouraged for some applicants to strengthen their application, but is generally not mandatory for admission to the MSc in Data Science and Engineering
