Dr. Richard Thompson received his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from King’s College London.During his studies, he spent a year in the Cancer Virology Team at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Dr. Thompson developed an interest in computational biology, leading to the successful completion of his Master’s degree in Bioinformatics at Birkbeck College, London. This was followed by a doctorate in Biostatistics and Virology, during which he participated in the EuResist project.
In June 2012, Dr. Thompson joined Shafallah Medical Genetics Center as a Bioinformatics Analyst, continuing his work within the center through a merger with Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI).
