Dr. Susan L. Karamanian, dean of CLPP, will chair the event with guest speaker Peter Tzeng. Mr. Tzeng is an international lawyer based in Washington D.C. at the law firm Foley Hoag, where he exclusively advises and represents countries on matters relating to public international law and international investment law. Mr. Tzeng also previously worked at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

نَظَّمت كلية الدراسات الإسلامية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة دورة المدرسة الشتوية المكثفة خلال الفترة من 25 – 30 ديسمبر 2018 للمشاركين في مشروع مبادرة مدرسة للخِطاب، التي أسسها ويقودها الدكتور إبراهيم موسى، والدكتور ماهان ميرزا، أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة نوتردام في ولاية إنديانا بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. وتهدف الدورة، التي تُتاح لعدد مختار من خريجي مبادرة مدرسة من الهند وباكستان، إلى تزويد القيادات الدينية المستقبلية بالأدوات اللازمة لتمكينهم من أداء مهامهم بثقة، ومناقشة القضايا المهمة، والمساهمة في قيادة الفكر الإسلامي في السياق العالمي المعاصر.

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) facilitated a Winter Intensive School from December 25-30, 2018, for participants of the Madrasa Discourses Project. The project initiative was founded and is led by Dr. Ebrahim Moosa and Dr. Mahan Mirza, faculty members at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, U.S.A. The course, open to a select number of Madrasa graduates from India and Pakistan, aims to equip future religious leaders with the tools to confidently function, debate, and contribute to Islamic thought within the contemporary global context.

سافر عدد من طلاب كلية العلوم والهندسة بجامعة حمد بن خليفة، مؤخرًا، إلى بكين، للمشاركة في برنامج "بذور المستقبل" السنوي الذي تنظمه شركة هواوي، وهو أحد مبادرات المسؤولية الاجتماعية التي أطلقتها الشركة بهدف تطوير مهارات تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات لدى طلاب الجامعات من شتى أنحاء العالم.

A group of students from the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), recently travelled to Beijing, China to participate in Huawei’s annual Seeds for the Future program. The corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by the Chinese multinational telecommunications company aims to develop the information and telecommunication technology (ICT) skills of university students from across the globe. 

شاركت جامعة حمد بن خليفة، مؤخرًا، في منتدى الدوحة بصفتها شريكًا في المحتوى، حيث كشفت دار جامعة حمد بن خليفة للنشر، خلال المنتدى، النقاب عن كتاب "الأزمة الخليجية: رؤية من قطر". ويعرض الكتاب وجهات نظر 15 من الباحثين والخبراء العاملين في المدينة التعليمية، الذين قدموا روايات مُطَّلِعة حول كيفية تأثير الحصار على الاقتصاد والمجتمع القطري والعلاقات الدبلوماسية. 

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently participated in the Doha Forum as a content partner, during which HBKU Press unveiled The Gulf Crisis: The View from Qatar, a book featuring 16 Education City-based scholars and experts who offer insider accounts of how the blockade has influenced Qatar’s economy, society and diplomatic relations.

His Excellency António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, delivered an insightful lecture at Hamad Bin Khalifa University on Sunday, December 16, attracting more than 375 guests, including students, faculty and diplomats. What turned out to be an engaging and very open talk was held under the headline of The Importance of Multilateralism in a Time of Unprecedented Challenges. 

شهدت صاحبة السمو الشيخة موزا بنت ناصر رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، محاضرةً لسعادة السيد أنطونيو غوتيريش، الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، بعنوان "أهمية التعددية في زمن التحديات غير المسبوقة"، استضافتها جامعة حمد بن خليفة، عضو مؤسسة قطر، اليوم في المدينة التعليمية، وبحضور سعادة الشيخة هند بنت حمد آل ثاني، نائب رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع ورئيس مجلس أمناء جامعة حمد بن خليفة. 

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), today attended a lecture by United Nations (UN) Secretary-General H.E. Mr. António Guterres on ‘The Importance of Multilateralism in a Time of Unprecedented Challenge’.

Hosted by Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of QF, at Education City, the event was also attended by Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of HBKU.
