Exosome Biomarkers for ASD

Exosome Biomarkers for ASD.

Exosome RNA/proteins can be good biomarkers for different types of diseases, but much remains unknown about specific exosome markers. The project focuses on purified and isolated exosomes using size-exclusion chromatography, and sorted neuron-specific exosomes using flow cytometry. The team have established the system to sort exosomes using fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). The goal of this project is to identify and validate a list of molecular biomarkers for early diagnosis of ASD, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson’s disease. These markers could facilitate the development of clinical targets for early intervention to prevent, delay, or reduce the severity of these diseases.
