The QBRI research centers are composed of multidisciplinary teams focused on certain scientific programs and supported by powerful platforms due to the enormous biological complexity of the research studies. In keeping with Qatar National Health Strategy 2018-2022, QBRI will establish and operate three centers of scientific excellence to better synergize and optimize the R&D investment. As we build QBRI infrastructure, we mandate excellence at all levels in our operations, facilities and partnerships with the best local and international biomedical research institutions.
Consistent with its mission to develop and promote translational biomedical research, encourage national and international collaborations and increase knowledge sharing; three research centers, six core advanced technology platforms and three enabling platforms are to be created over a period of five years. QBRI’s established research centers are :
The NDRC is a pioneer neuroscience center in Qatar and the region that aims to study neurological disorders of significant importance.
This center promotes innovative research on type 1 and type 2 diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
The major focus of the Cancer Research Center is cancer immunology and immunotherapy.
This initiative is to encourage QBRI’s researchers in tackling common scientific challenges to work together and stimulate biomedical research.
