A CIS Research Student Journal
The Astrolabe: A CIS Student Research Journal is an annual publication that seeks to highlight the applied nature of Islamic Studies and showcases our students’ voices from the fields of Shari’a, Qur’anic Studies, Islamic Ethics, Islamic Art, Education, Islamic Finance, and Social Sciences.
The Astrolabe is a scholarly rendition of the ancient astronomical instrument, through which students navigate contemporary debates of interest based on solid theoretical grounds and empirical research. The journal will continue to discover possibilities between the various disciplines and sciences to enrich our communities and readers with fresh perspectives, new solutions, and thought-provoking ideas.
The Astrolabe: A CIS Student Research Journal serves to engage the students at the College of Islamic Studies in a truly vibrant academic dialogue. As part of a research-intensive university, CIS aims to instill in its students not only the required skills of a researcher, but an innate spirit of curiosity, discovery, and the motivation to share with the community.
