For ECRs, it is essential to begin envisioning long-term goals, identifying measures of success and resiliently working towards these by creating an actionable career plan. Dr. Richard O’Kennedy, B.Sc., Ph.D., C. Biol., FRSB., F.I.Biol.I., Dip. F.S., Dip. C.S., Dip. Computing, MRIA, is the Vice-President for Research at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and the Vice-President for Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) at Qatar Foundation, Doha, Qatar. He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy and the Qatar RDI Council.
