This lecture will analyze the complex landscape of digital revolution, and focus on what the EU, and Italy in particular, are doing to make the digital revolution a big opportunity of growth for our society and, at the same time, reduce the risk of becoming a serious threat to national sovereignty and prosperity.

This talk will also address the role of the scientific community in ensuring secure and resilient networks and information systems, and highlight cases of specific technologies and threats.

Speaker Biography

Dr. Roberto Baldoni 
As of  January 2018, Roberto Baldoni is the Deputy Director General of the Department of Information for Security (DIS) with responsibility for national cybersecurity. He is currently on leave from Sapienza University of Rome, where he is a full professor of computer science. Baldoni chairs the Italian Cybersecurity Management Board (Nucleo Sicurezza Cibernetica), an inter-ministerial organization established at DIS for cyber crisis prevention and management. As Deputy Director General of DIS, he is the Italian contact point of NATO for cyber policy issues and the head of the Italian NIS point of contact.
