What inspired you to pursue postgraduate studies with HBKU?

HBKU is one of the best universities in the region for postgraduate cybersecurity studies. Being here has enabled me to target my research towards the human factor in cybersecurity. Throughout my studies at HBKU, I have had the chance to expand my research journey and build relations with academics from other international universities, learning from their experiences in the process. Thehuman factor in cybersecurity is a niche multi discipline area, but with the support of my professors, Dr. Aiman Erbad and Dr. Raian Ali, and those from other universities, I have successfully built up my knowledge and am committed to helping Qatar achieve a key goal of National Vision 2030 - the provision of a safe cyberspace.

I was also impressed by the university’s international faculty and diversity of students, both of which provide countless opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals from around the world. These also make HBKU a great place to develop and advance research skills, build relations with academics and industry professionals, and bring to life products for national, regional, and global markets.

How did HBKU help you to adjust and settle into life at Education City?

HBKU pays close attention to building key academic skills and inspiring students to make as much use as possible of the social activities at Education City. As a PhD student at the College of Science and Engineering in HBKU, I am encouraged to regularly attend conferences and summits relevant to my studies. These include regular exchanges with international universities, such as Oman’s University of Technology and Applied Sciences.

What activities are you involved in outside of your studies?

Outside of my studies, I engage in many activities that take place on campus such as workshops, conferences, and other events organized by the university. I am also a member of the Qatari Society which is organized and led by Qatar Foundation’s public relations team.

Do you have a message for anybody interested in studying at HBKU?

My message to individuals interested in studying at HBKU is to seize the opportunity and apply. The university will undoubtedly enhance your academic skills and sharpen your entrepreneurial abilities.
