Motivation
Individuals with autism often face significant communication challenges and rely on AAC tools for support. However, existing AAC systems are limited in personalization and adaptability, making it harder to meet diverse user needs.
Research
This project aims to develop a prototype utilizing generative AI to create adaptive, context-aware AAC systems offering personalized communication support for individuals with autism. The study combines surveys, interviews, and workshops to understand user needs and guide prototype design.
Impact
Improving communication for non-verbal autistic individuals using AI that adapts to user needs and context, while advancing HCI and AI research in assistive technology design.
