Motivation

Individuals with autism commonly experience challenges with planning and organizing tasks, often leading to difficulties adapting plans when faced with unforeseen changes.

Research

This study introduces a serious game designed to evaluate planning skills in children with autism. We assess its discriminative validity (ability to distinguish between ASD and non-ASD groups) and convergent validity by comparing game metrics with established planning measures (e.g., Zoo Map).

Impact

Our results support AutiShop as a practical assessment tool for planning: it quantifies performance and can classify children into ASD vs. non-ASD groups based on gameplay, while aligning with conventional tests.
