Partners of College of Public Policy

Introduction

The College of Public Policy’s (CPP) teaching and research mission depends on community engagement and strategic partnerships. As a leading member of regional and international scholarly associations, CPP students have access to the latest research in the field.

Our Capstone Partners are both local and international, and directly support students in their research projects. Other partnerships connect CPP to Qatar Foundation entities, government, NGOs, international organizations, the private sector, regulatory agencies, and think tanks. Engagement and partnerships are pathways of opportunity for our students, and provide rich experiential depth to their learning.

Capstone Partners

Graduate students in the College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) devote a large part of their final year to completing a capstone project, which demonstrates the insights and skills they have developed at CPP. The experience is both a significant challenge and a source of substantive growth.

International Public Policy Association (IPPA)

The International Public Policy Association (IPPA) is a non-profit organization created in December 2014 with the aim of promoting scientific research in the field of Public Policy, and to contribute to its international development.

Guided by the overall goal of the Association, IPPA has developed different activities to connect PhD students, early career researchers and practitioners from all over the world and provide them with high-quality experiences and resources.

International Comparative Policy Association (ICPA)

Founded in 2010, the International Comparative Policy Analysis-Forum is an international network of scholars dedicated to the advancement, encouragement and exchange of ideas, research, and other activities related to comparative policy analytic studies.

It supports the mission of the Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis and its aims and scope by engaging in a dialogue on comparative policy issues, methodologies and theories.

Association for Middle East Public Policy and Administration (AMEPPA)

The Association for Middle Eastern Public Policy and Administration (AMEPPA) is the premier forum for public policy and administration scholarships in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The annual AMEPPA conference attracts academicians, practitioners, and graduate students not just from its primary disciplines of public policy, public administration, and public sector management but also political science, development studies, economics, area studies and international affairs from both the MENA region and around the world.

Global Network of Schools of Government (OECD)

The OECD Global Network of Schools of Government provides direct access to OECD governance expertise and enables exchange of schools’ experiences and good practices in ensuring that public sector employees have the skills and competencies to address current and future priorities.

In response to the growing recognition that an effective and efficient public sector is essential for stimulating economic growth and social welfare, the OECD is increasingly called upon to assist in building public sector capacity to ensure responsiveness to government priorities. To achieve this objective, we have brought together national schools of government in a Global Network of Schools of Government. The Network provides direct access to OECD governance expertise and enables exchange of schools’ experiences and good practices in ensuring that public sector employees have the skills and competencies to address current and future priorities.

Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA)

NASPAA or the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration is the global standard in public service education. NASPAA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) membership association with over 300 institutional member schools at U.S. and non-U.S. universities that award degrees in public administration, public policy, public affairs, non profit and related fields. NASPAA is the recognized global accreditor of master's degree programs in these fields.
