Overview
The Department of Language, Culture and Communication (LCC) leads an ambitious strategy for graduate education in the region, delivering a unique set of programs to train leading professionals working between Arabic and English in all areas of translation. Combining academic rigor with the development of the vocational skills demanded by industry and institutional employers, LCC programs provide graduates with a competitive edge in the freelance, corporate, and institutional marketplaces. Two of LCC’s programs, Master of Arts in Translation Studies (MATS) and Master of Arts in Audiovisual Translation (MAAT), are validated by the University of Geneva.
The Department of Language, Culture and Communication also strives to develop and maintain a vibrant research culture for faculty and students, as well as other scholars from the region and beyond. This is pursued through a range of different initiatives, including seminars, numerous public events, and several interdisciplinary research projects guided by full-time faculty, all of which complement the academic offer.
