Towards Climate Neutrality: How is the EU Driving Global Action?

05Oct2021

The Program on Governance, Resilience and Sustainability (PROGRESS) at the College of Public Policy (CPP), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and the delegation of the European Union to the State of Kuwait and to the State of Qatar, are delighted to co-host a high-level panel discussion on EU environmental policies and the EU Green Deal.

The European Commission recently adopted the Fit for 55 package, a series of cross-cutting legislative proposals, which aim to put the EU on course to meet its ambitious target of a 55% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The package aligns EU policy with the ambitious political mandates of the Green Deal and the EU Climate Law.

Qatar’s National Vision 2030, the country’s long-term development strategy has also identified environmental development as one of its four pillars.
