Hamdy Mubarak is a Senior Software Engineer at QCRI in the area of Arabic Natural Language Processing. He was graduated from Computer Science department, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University in Egypt with distinct with degree of honor in 1992. After graduation, he joined Sakhr Software in Cairo as a Software Engineer in the Arabic NLP group, and was promoted to Senior SW Engineer, then PM, Senior PM, and R&D Manager. He participated in building commercial applications with core NLP inside like: MT, TTS, SE, OCR, etc. He worked also as a Software Engineering Manager at Ellipsis Digital Systems (US-Based company) in the field of digital communications from 2001 to 2003. He published around 60 papers in top conferences and journals in the field of Arabic NLP, Question Answering, Speech processing, crowdsoursing, and social media extraction and analysis.
