Public Policy and Global Affairs Students Take Part in Lego Problem-Solving Exercise

Public policy and global affairs students at HBKU recently took part in a three-hour LEGO Serious Play (LSP) session during which they identified real-world problems and presented their own unique collective 3D LEGO model.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ozcan Ozturk, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of the Master of Public Policy from the College of Public Policy, and Dr. Evren Tok, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the MA program in Islam and Global Affairs from the College of Islamic Studies, students of Research Methodology courses from both programs collectively explored research techniques.

LSP’s series of structured questions are designed to unlock knowledge and insights on the desired topic or challenge. HBKU students explored building research questions and designing operational definitions. The session demonstrated HBKU’s commitment to progressive education.

LEGO Serious Play is used by individuals, groups, and organizations to improve the efficiency of meetings, contribute to more effective decision-making, and help create innovative solutions.
